Parking, Shuttles & Transportation

Plan ahead for XTERRA race week with current parking closures, shuttle routes, Grindstone Lake access, and transportation information for athletes, spectators, and visitors.

Parking Lot Closures

Wingfield Street & Center Street — Southeast Parking Lot

Sunday, October 4 at 9:00 AM – Monday, October 12 at 5:00 PM

The parking lot on the southeast corner of Wingfield Street and Center Street will be closed to the public.

Wingfield Street & Center Street — Northeast Parking Lot

Thursday, October 8 at 9:00 AM – Sunday, October 11 at 8:00 PM

The parking lot on the northeast corner of Wingfield Street and Center Street will be closed to the public.

Grindstone Lake Parking

Sunday, October 4 at 9:00 AM – Monday, October 12 at 5:00 PM

The main parking lots at Grindstone Lake will be closed to the public.

Guests may use Athlete Parking Monday through Friday.

Saturday & Sunday Grindstone Lake Access: During race operations, access to Grindstone Lake and Athlete Parking will be limited to athletes and spectators arriving by shuttle. Public parking will not be available at Grindstone Lake. Shuttles will be available from Wingfield Park.

Spectator & Guest Parking

Parking for race spectators and guests is available in public lots and spaces throughout Midtown until those areas are full.

Overflow parking is available at the Ruidoso Convention Center. For easier parking, guests may park there and take a shuttle to Wingfield Park. Shuttle service is also available from designated hotels.

Visitors are encouraged to allow extra time and use the shuttle system during peak race operations.

Important Athlete Parking Restriction: Athlete Parking will be closed to all inbound and outbound traffic from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM during active race hours.

Plan Ahead for XTERRA Race Week

Parking availability and access will vary throughout XTERRA World Championship week. Spectators and visitors are encouraged to use designated shuttle service whenever possible, particularly when traveling to Grindstone Lake during Saturday and Sunday race operations.
