MOUNTAIN BIKING
The 18-mile Grindstone Lake trail system—designed by the International Mountain Bicycling Association—offers rolling singletrack, lake views, and routes for all experience levels. Continued trail development keeps this area fresh, and the pump track at the trailhead adds a family-friendly bonus.
This close-to-town network weaves through pines and aspens with more than 30 miles of multi-use trails. Expect moderate climbs, flowing stretches, and elevations around 6,540 feet. After your ride, enjoy the nearby picnic area or campground.
Ski Apache – Summer Downhill Trails
In summer, Ski Apache transforms into a downhill playground. Load your bike onto a scenic gondola ride and choose from trails ranging from beginner-friendly flow to expert descents. Cool mountain air, big views, and gravity-powered fun make this a must-ride for thrill seekers.
Fort Stanton
The 93 miles of sustainable trails are for hiking, horseback riding and mountain bike riding. The Equestrian Trail Head has a number of trails leading from it and is suitable for hikers and mountain bikers to park and stage rides. View a downloadable trail brochure here. Drinking water is available.
The Links at Sierra Blanca Pathway
For a gentle, scenic ride, the paved Links Trail circles the Links at Sierra Blanca Golf Course. This route works well for families, casual riders, or anyone acclimating to higher elevations.
