As part of the Lincoln Lecture Series during Old Lincoln Days, archaeologist Lisa L. Sparks presents Prehistoric Lifeways of Lincoln County inside the historic San Juan Bautista Church. This engaging lecture explores thousands of years of human history in the region, from the Archaic and Mogollon cultures to early Apache occupation.
Drawing on research from notable sites such as Bonnell, Angus, Lower Stanton Ruin, and Feather Cave, Sparks explains how shifting technologies and structures reveal evolving relationships between people and the land. With over 15 years of experience in New Mexico and the Southwest, and as a member of the Jornada Research Institute and instructor at ENMU-Ruidoso, Sparks brings insight and clarity to this fascinating subject.
Lecture is included with site admission: $7 for adults, free for children 16 and under.
