IN THE PRESS: Ruidoso River Trail, a place to contemplate

For decades, local business owners and community promoters talked about building a trail along the route of the Rio Ruidoso to allow visitors and full-time resident to enjoy the sound of the stream and to stop at occasional benches to contemplate the scenery around them. — USA TODAY

With two phases complete, and a third planned for construction in 2018-2019, the 1.3 mile Ruidoso River Trail welcomes visitors beginning at Two River Park and winding up to Rio Street and Eagle Drive. Those walking the trail have to jog a bit to Sudderth Drive in the section containing the missing link that will connect phase one and two, but that doesn’t diminish the tranquility of the moments listening to the rushing water.
