In July 2026, the Village of Ruidoso will make triathlon history as New Mexico hosts its first-ever IRONMAN-branded event: the IRONMAN® 70.3® Ruidoso New Mexico triathlon, part of an exciting weekend festival of racing that also includes the 5150® Ruidoso New Mexico and Ruidoso Sprint triathlon.
Set against the backdrop of the towering Sierra Blanca Mountains, this two-day event promises something for everyone—from elite athletes and first-time triathletes to families, locals, and spectators.
ELEVATE YOUR RACE
Athletes will begin their race with a swim in the pristine waters of Grindstone Lake, followed by a bike course that winds through Ruidoso and out toward Hondo, offering wide-open vistas and exhilarating climbs. The run course loops through Midtown and scenic neighborhoods, delivering high desert beauty and an unforgettable finish-line experience in the heart of the village.
