Ever want to be an explorer? Perhaps a treasure hunter, but the idea of lugging a metal detector around seems like too much work? Geocaching may be for you.
There are several geocache units in Ruidoso and surrounding areas for our visitors to find. Once a cache is found, the finder logs info in a logbook takes a treasure from the cache and leaves one of similar value. Our caches are loaded with Ruidoso pins and stickers. The finder then logs his or her find on http://www.geocaching.com/. The geocaching project is just one of the many goals to come out of the new EcoTourism committee.
