On a fine summer day, the temperature is cool, the sun is shining, and Ruidoso visitors and locals indulge their overwhelming urge to go outside and play


Summer ends with an explosion of yellow in the forests. Autumn in Ruidoso is a tranquil season when groves of Aspen trees blanket the mountains in yellow and the summer visitors return home. 


The snow season in Ruidoso begins in November and lasts at least until April. With skiing, snowboarding, and tubing, plus plenty of holiday events, winter is a popular season to visit.
