Celebrate a hometown icon in Capitan, NM at Smokey Bear Days—honoring Smokey Bear’s birthday and the 50th anniversary of Smokey Bear Historical Park. Hosted by the park and the New Mexico Forestry Division, this free, two-day festival brings the community together with fire prevention and conservation exhibits, a hometown parade, the annual firefighter challenge, food, vendors, games, and family-friendly activities for all ages.
