Experience one of Ruidoso’s most unique events as more than 50 runners and their burros race through the heart of Midtown during the annual Sierra Blanca Pack Burro Race.

Inspired by the mining history of the American West, pack burro racing pairs athletes with donkeys as they run together over a challenging course. Spectators can cheer on the competitors from Wingfield Park and throughout Midtown while enjoying a lively festival atmosphere.

In addition to the race, visitors can browse dozens of local vendors, explore nearby shops and restaurants, and enjoy a fun-filled day that’s perfect for the whole family.
