2026 Rec Youth Summer Wilderness Camp – Week 1 (June 8 - 12)

Planning a summer getaway to the mountains? Let the kids experience Ruidoso in a whole new way at the 2026 Rec Youth Summer Wilderness Camp. Hosted by Ruidoso Parks and Recreation, this weeklong day camp invites children ages 7–12 to explore the outdoors, build confidence, and make new friends in the cool pines of southern New Mexico.

Each day brings hands-on adventure and fresh mountain air, with activities that may include:

• Hiking & Wildlife Exploration

• Fishing & Basic Survival Skills

• Outdoor Sports & Recreation

• Swimming & a Fire Station Tour

• A Field Trip to the Alamogordo Zoo & New Mexico Museum of Space History

Camp hours are 7:30–8:00 AM drop-off and 1:00–1:30 PM pick-up, with extended pick-up (5:00–5:30 PM) on field trip day. Snacks and drinks are provided daily, and lunch is included on the field trip.

The camp is open to children ages 7–12 (as of registration). Cost is $65 per child, per week. Space is limited to 25 campers each week, so early registration is encouraged.
