Join Warren Kasper of the Fort Stanton–Snowy River Cave National Conservation Area for a unique guided hike exploring one of southeast New Mexico’s most intriguing mysteries.
Part of the nationwide celebration of the 250th anniversary of American independence, the Lost Hikers Gonna Hike series invites participants to discover the region’s natural landscapes and fascinating history.
This free public hike visits the approximate location where a UFO allegedly impacted in 1947, sparking decades of speculation and helping create one of New Mexico’s most enduring local legends. Along the way, participants will learn about the story, the surrounding landscape, and the area’s place in regional history.
The guided hike lasts approximately one hour and is free and open to the public.
