Join the Lincoln County Bird Club (LCBC) for its annual Fall Equinox Migration Field Trip along Monjeau Road to Monjeau Peak.

Experienced and novice birders are welcome for a morning of birdwatching during the height of the fall migration season.

Carpools will leave promptly at 8:00 AM from the gravel parking lot west of the Shell station on Ski Run Road (NM 532). The outing is expected to continue until approximately noon.

This is the height of the fall migration season as birds who have summered in the northern U.S. migrate to Mexico, Central and South America.

Species spotted on previous outings have included Bushtit, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Clay-colored Sparrow, Black-chinned Sparrow, various hummingbirds, Olive-sided Flycatcher, and many more.

What to Bring

Dress in layers, as temperatures can change considerably with elevation. Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars, field guides or birding apps, a camera, water, and snacks.
