Carrizozo Music Presents Linda Rosenthal in Concert

Carrizozo Music is pleased to announce that violinist Linda Rosenthal, accompanied by pianist Maxim Pakhomov, will perform in Carrizozo on Friday, November 16, at 6 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church.   The free performance, featuring music by Beethoven, Bartok, Sarasate, Massenet and Bock, is presented by the Piatigorsky Foundation of NYC.

The duo will present a special school concert on Monday, November 12 at noon in the Carrizozo School Old Gym.  All concerts are free and open to the public.

Violinist LINDA ROSENTHAL performs throughout North America, Europe and Asia in recitals, as a soloist with orchestra and as a chamber musician.  Linda is the Founder and Artistic Director of the annual Lake Placid Chamber Music Seminar in Lake Placid, New York and Founder of Juneau Jazz & Classics Music Festival, where she served as Artistic Director for thirty years.  In addition to a busy schedule performing solo and chamber music, Ms. Rosenthal also tours Strings & Stories, a show for young audiences that she created and premiered at the Kennedy Center in 1995.  Over the past decade, Ms. Rosenthal has commissioned and premiered more than a dozen works, including pieces for solo violin, electric violin and violin & Narrator.  Her four solo CDs include Three American Sonatas,  featuring the works Copland, Piston and Porter; Favorite violiln Encores: Fiddle de Bop, a collection of Americana music for violin and piano; andGlacier Blue, a Concerto for Violin and Jazz Big Band.  Linda Rosenthal plays on a violin made in Turin, Italy in 1772 by J.B. Guadagnini. 
MAXIM PAKHOMOV, pianist, has toured England, Scotland, Austria and Estonia in both solo and chamber music performances.  He is a founding member of The Bronx Chamber Players and is principal pianist of the Bronx Opera Company.  His solo performances include piano concertos by Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saens, Brahms, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff and Grieg with the Orchestra of the Bronx, the Orchestra of The Barge Music Festival, and the Staten Island Philharmonic.  Mr. Pakhomov is a graduate of The Moscow Conservatory.
