In 2017, the sounds of silence seem to be drowning out what really matters. In this day and age, the universal lyrics of Simon and Garfunkel have become more relevant than ever. Hailing from Stourbridge, England, Dan Haynes and Pete Richards are the members of Bookends, perhaps the finest Simon and Garfunkel Tribute band in the world. They sing the songs that speak to the times as importantly as they did 50 years ago.
Friends since childhood, Dan and Pete were young musicians bonded through a shared love for the music of Simon and Garfunkel. When they reached adulthood, both men decided to keep the spirit of Simon and Garfunkel alive.
The pair has received tremendous acclaim in their home country with BBC Radio WM calling their performance “a masterpiece.” Over the years, Bookends have been able to fine-tune their vocals to the point that they now sing in perfect harmony, just like Simon and Garfunkel. They appear at the Spencer with a string quartet for a night of pure musical poetry.
