Step into a morning of discovery at Bird Secrets, a family-friendly event at the Wingfield Heritage House Museum celebrating the natural beauty and birdlife of the Ruidoso area.

Designed for curious minds of all ages, this interactive experience invites families to explore bird habitats through hands-on activities and creative projects. The museum will be transformed into four immersive zones—each reflecting local ecosystems from riparian areas to mountain meadows—bringing the region’s landscapes to life.

Family Activities Include:

• Scavenger Hunt through four habitat zones:

  • Water/Riparian (Grindstone Lake/Two Rivers)

  • Mountain Meadow (Sawmill Trailhead)

  • Ponderosa Forest (Cedar Creek)

  • Pinyon-Juniper Woodland (Moon Mountain)

• Make your own hummingbird feeder

• Create a sun catcher

Young participants will also receive a birding certificate and a bird whistle to take home.
