Description

Established in 2009 to protect, conserve, and enhance the unique and nationally important historic, cultural, scientific, archaeological, natural, and educational subterranean cave resources of the Fort Stanton Snowy River cave system. The NCA includes approximately 25,080 acres .

From Ruidoso, take Hwy 48 North for 7 miles. At NM 220, turn right. Stay on 220 for 12 1/2 miles, drive past Ft. Stanton. The recreation area is past Ft Stanton a few miles on your right.
