Description

Alto Lake is regularly stocked with rainbow trout, and on occasion catfish and smallmouth bass. The best attribute of this lake is the scenery with a view of Sierra Blanca mountain range to the east.

Fishing Reports:
Both lakes are open to fishing dawn to dusk. Best times to fish are early to mid-morning or afternoon starting a couple hours before sundown.
Western Auto usually has the latest fishing report with recommended bait, they also sell bait. Power bait, worms, salmon eggs are all good and can be purchased Walmart (Ruidoso Downs) or Western Auto (400 Mechem Drive), as well as a fishing license.
